People who are complaining about the overused settings in the Call of Duty franchise may finally get their wish, since the sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops does not occur in present day middle east nor ww2-era Germany.
In fact, in what seems like a surprise, the game is set both in the Cold War of the 80s AND Los Angeles in the year 2025. Can someone say hovering drones and walking tanks + shootouts on horsebacks? Watch the trailer below to see what I’m talking about:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will serve as a direct sequel to Black Ops, and has two interconnecting story arcs set in two different time periods, One is Alex Mason (Sam Worthington)’s and the other is his son David’s. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is due out on November 13, 2012 for Windows PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360.
