Namco Bandai is getting ready to revisit the second installment in their hit SoulCalibur series of weapon-based fighting games via SoulCalibur II HD Online, which should be a breath of fresh air for people who feel that the most recent installments (I’m looking at you, SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny) became ridiculously hard to the point of being broken.
Scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall, SoulCalibur II HD Online is an HD update on the Arcade, Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox original. The HD remake, as the name implies, will add online components over Playstation Network and Xbox Live. It will include all the game modes from the original, and will feature both Heihachi and Spawn, which were previously exclusive to specific platforms (Link was in the original Gamecube version, but it is absent in the HD remake. Not a surprise, as there’s no Nintendo port.)
