Gamers who loved Crystal Dynamics’ recent reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise will be glad to know that Lara Croft’s next adventure is already well into development, according to Square Enix’s Phil Rogers.
What’s even more exciting is the announcement that the game will have a tie-in comic from Dark Horse, which will be penned by Gail Simone (Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman). The comic book tie-in’s story is said to be canon, and will serve as the bridge between the first and second games in the rebooted franchise.
Currently, there’s no word on platforms nor release window, but it’s nice to know that the reboot garnered such positive reception to warrant a follow-up and a comic book tie-in. As proof of the Tomb Raider reboot’s appeal, watch Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer review, in which the host got so fond of Lara that he became upset everytime she dies in-game.
