Fire Emblem: Awakening has already debuted on the Nintendo 3DS in North America last month, but it’s bound to stay in gamers’ playlists for a while since Nintendo has an abundance of DLC in the pipeline, most of which are paid DLC. Fortunately for people who don’t have the budget for it, Nintendo will be offering some freebies via their SpotPass.
The first content to be offered is called “A Hard Miracle,” which was made available yesterday, and there are more free content scheduled to come out all throughout Spring. For those new to the handheld, SpotPass is a 3DS feature that allos content to be automatically downloaded to your handheld via wireless Internet access points. All you have to do is opt in to receive content in Fire Emblem: Awakening.
More maps and special items are due out over the next few weeks. “Ghost of Blade” offers up a haunted tale about a ghost and the ultimate sacrifice on March 28; “The Wellspring of Trust” tosses in a bunch of tough enemies on April 11; and “The Radiant Hero” has Chrom and his allies searching for a legendary hero on an isolated island on April 25.
