As mentioned in a previous post, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has lamented that the Wii U’s sales are being affected by a weak software line, especially with regard to 3rd party titles. However, it all seems poised to change as we are starting to see a bunch of new IPs trickling down towards Nintendo’s current gen offering, the latest of which is Mighty Switch Force 2.
Serving as a direct sequel to WayForward’s 3DS plaformer/puzzler, Mighty Switch Force! 2 will be making its way to the Wii U in the future after a successful showing on the 3DS eShop last June.
According to an official statement from WayForward (via Nintendo Everything), the Wii U version is currently a backburner project, but an official announcement about the release date is forthcoming.
