Despite wrapping up more than a decade ago, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise continues to be popular and commercially viable these days, with a recent movie proving to be successful even among people who weren’t even born yet when GT wrapped up. The same goes true for videogames, as Namco Bandai proves with the most recent iteration of the series 3D fighting games, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. You can check out the trailer below:
Some of the improvements in Battle of Z over the last Budokai Tenkaichi games, besides the additions of new characters from the recent movie are 4 on 4 co-op play, properly proportioned characters (this means Oozarus are now as tall as a mountain, instead of being only 20 feet tall) and new transformations. There’s also the matter of graphical updates, of course.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita in Europe on January 24, 2014, with North America to follow on January 28.
