Castlevania Producer Leaves Konami 0

Konami has multitudes of iconic videogame licenses, which includes the iconic Pac-Man and Castlevania, which along with Nintendo’s Metroid, managed to co-inspire a new genre. However, fans who are hoping for a return to 2D installment after the poor reception garnered by Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 should know that it’s no longer going to happen under series producer Koji Igarashi, as the man who served as assistant director on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has already parted ways with Konami.

In a recent interview with IGN, Igarashi stated that he has plans to open his own development studio and will be using it to make the kind of games that he wants to make. Igarashi added that these games are “the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well.”
