Capcom Plans to Release New Content for Wii U

One of the main criticism levied against the Nintendo Wii U is that its launch library consists of a lot of ports and previously released titles, with a few system-specific features tacked on. Gamers are specially critical as the Wii U’s predecessor also suffered from the same reliance on ports and half-assed translations during its mid-life. Thankfully, third party dev Capcom has no plans of peppering the Wii U with re-releases, with senior VP Christian Svensson stating that they have plans to release brand new content for the console:

“With regard to Wii U, in general we’re looking forward, not back so late ports are generally not on the table.”

Svensson also revealed that one of Capcom’s most lucrative franchises – Monster Hunter – will be making its way to the Wii U via Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, though he hasn’t given any further details, with future projects merely being tagged as “in the works.”
