For the longest time now, videogames associated with the Aliens franchise have all been action-oriented. Even the ridiculously difficult (due to broken design, and not because it’s cleverly designed to be challenging) Aliens: Colonial Marines is still action-based. But according to a recent announcement, the next videogame based on Ridley Scott’s sci fi horror franchise will be a more low-key, survival horror attempt, making it more in line with the 1979 original film.
Titled “Alien: Isolation,” the game will follow Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda, as she is now an employee of Weyland-Yutani and has been charged with recovering an audio log that will shed lights on the events of the Nostromo. Unfortunately for her and her crew, a Xenomorph is already waiting for them.
