New Prometheus Viral Clip Featuring Noomi Rapace

It seems that Fox is still not convinced that we’re all primed to watch Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, as it keeps pumping out teaser images, trailers, and viral videos without actually spoiling anything.
Not that we’re complaining, because the viral videos at least are intriguing, like this new one featuring Noomi Rapace, in which her character Dr. Elizabeth Shaw is asking Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) for financial assistance to secure the services of the Prometheus. Video: Ryu VS Asura in Lost Episode DLC

Street Fighter’s Ryu (also, his OMGEVIL alter ego) has recently made an appearance in Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath game, by way of a short DLC that pits the game’s titular character with the famous shotokan karate practitioner.
Now, Asura’s Wrath is basically a third person beat ‘em up, but the DLC pays homage to Street Fighter IV, from the loading screens right down to the 2D perspective. At least, the first part of the fight has to be played in 2D. Because at some point in the game, Asura will uppercut Ryu straight into the moon (literally), where the second part of the fight will start as Asura fights with Dark Ryu.
Watch the video, and pay attention to the cliffhanger ending, featuring another familiar face:
The DLC is currently worth $2 on PSN and 160 MS Points on XBox Live. If you’re a fan of Asura’s Wrath, Ryu, or ridiculously over the top fights, you may want to check it out.
Tomb Raider Reboot Pushed Back to 2013
Lara Croft may have run out of steam these past few years, as the former queen of third person exploration has fallen by the wayside, with her throne taken over by better, more timely games and her franchise relegated to handheld ports and mediocre films. The planned reboot of the franchise plans to change all of that, giving Lara Croft a much needed realistic make over, both in gameplay and in looks, Unfortunately, we may have to wait a little more for the reboot, as the planned fall 2012 release has been pushed back further to 2013.
Crystal Dynamics’ studio head Darrell Gallagher posted a message to fans explaining the delay:
A Message to the Tomb Raider Community:
When Crystal Dynamics first set out to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise, there were two goals that we were extremely passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers. The second was to make this the best game of our careers, something we would be really proud to be a part of. We truly believe that we have something very special on our hands and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.
We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait. The game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.

Boot Windows faster
The advent of “Instant On” devices such as the iPad, most android mobiles, and some of the newer smartphones has hammered home the point that the boot up time of a Personal Computer is one of its disadvantages, most of them taking only a few seconds but still a few seconds longer than the iPad.
What’s worse, a Windows-based computer’s boot up time actually increases the longer you use it, as more and more programs are installed and the registry gets bloated, causing the OS to lag at startup as it struggles to load everything first before giving you a chance to use it. In order to minimize or prevent this slowdown, here are some things you can do to Boot Windows Faster: Continue reading “Boot Windows faster” »
